Sligo's meeting proved an excellent one for front-runners as Barry Cash produced an excellent ride to make all on 25-1 chance Johnny Suku in the Sligo GAA Race Day 19th August Maiden Hurdle.

William Murphy's charge had pulled up in all three starts between the flags, but was blinkered for this and Cash was happy to open up a big lead in front early on.

Odds-on favourite Jimmy Two Times loomed up travelling well approaching the last, but Johnny Suku found plenty up the straight to win by a length and a half.< Who Let De Dogsout made all to land the Follow Sligo Races On Facebook Rated Novice Hurdle.

Always appearing to travel the best under Philip Enright, the 6-1 chance was collared by the under pressure Shantou Flyer approaching the last, but was too strong for that rival on the run-in, scoring by half a length.

Another front-running display saw Kilcarry Bridge run out a convincing winner of the Ellen's Pub Maugherow Handicap Hurdle.

Ryan Treacy was happy to set off in front on the John Ryan-trained 3-1 joint-favourite and he came home clear of Honourable Lady winning by six and a half lengths.< Back To Bracka needed the run to the first to get in front before going on to annihilate the field in the Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle.

Noel Kelly's 6-4 favourite never looked back once in front under Michael Butler, cruising to a seven-length win over Polish Partizan.< Kindly Vinnie became another big-priced winner when she landed the June 17th At Sligo Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Richard Brabazon had opted to fit the 25-1 chance with a tongue-tie for this test and it worked wonders, and Andrew Thornton kicked on from before the second last and kept on well to beat Pennys Tune by three lengths.
