Weld talks of 'difficult period' Dermot Weld insists he never doubted his own ability during what was a difficult first half of the season. The master of Rosewell House has won countless Group One prizes at home and abroad during his long and illustrious career, but the current campaign has been a troubled one, however, there have been definite signs of a revival in the last couple of weeks. "Earlier in the year we weren't happy with our horses, but they're slowly coming back and coming back very nicely," Weld told At The Races. "Nothing changes. We have the same staff, the same jockeys and the same feed. You train them the same and have confidence in your own ability. "You know that you're going through a difficult period and it's going to change. "It's not pleasant, it's not nice, but you've just go to grin and bear it. Nothing goes up all the time. "You try and hit a level playing field so when you win, you're pleased, but you realise how lucky you are, and when you lose, you've just got to take it."
