FormscanBy Michael Graham - This veterans' race looks a good opportunity for WESTSTREET. It is worth noting that on his last start he went off favourite for the Scottish Borders National at Kelso (off 7lb higher) before being pulled up in that marathon test. On his penultimate start, he was a fair second in a 3m handicap chase at Down Royal. He won five times in Britain for Oliver Sherwood and there should be races to be won in Ireland with him. The last time Mick The Jiver competed over fences was in the Cork Grand National of November 2020. This is quite a drop in class for him so he should be a contender. Although Nobody Home has been unplaced in his last three handicap chases, they were reasonable efforts.
