We ran her in the Guineas Trial first time out this season and she ran a solid enough race and took a blow. She then ran flat and it turned out she was in season. We were hopeful she was in good shape coming into this, although we were quite concerned when the rain came. She settled well and picked up well. Her attitude was good, and Billy gave her a lovely ride. We’ll see where we go in handicaps and black type will be the ultimate aim.

Absolutely delighted with him. We had two bad days in York this year and the owner stuck by him. I knew we had a good horse on our hands. He's entered here for six furlongs on Wednesday and he probably will go for it. The penalty will bring him well into the handicap. It was (a competitive race) and I've to thank Luke McAteer who told me the last time to put Patrick on him to claim the 7lb off, and that that would be massive (for him). He'll probably get on him again on Wednesday. No, absolutely not (winning out of turn) - his form has been pretty solid. Probably my own fault for running him over the mile, I thought he would stay that being a Holy Roman Emperor, but he just showed there tonight that he has bundles of speed. We have to take our hats off to the young lad who rode him, Tommie Jakes, who was buried today. Tommie rode a double for me that night in April of last year (at Wolverhampton). We'd like to dedicate this win to young Tommie.

She had a couple of nice runs last year, but is a filly who we just held on to. Ben said she relaxed in front, that she jumped out as nothing was going on and it was a good performance. I was surprised as I thought she would need the run but she jumped well, got a nice position and just kept going. Ohailbhic had a hard old time last year when he got gelded and had a couple of problems. He got the mile great, cruised into it although I think the race fell apart. It fell asunder a bit but he relishes that surface and I'm delighted he won again for the owner (Ivan Holloway). I thought he was a bit hard giving him 8lb for winning the last day. He got handicapped last year when he was running too free in his races but he’s settling better. He's a lovely little horse. He was unlucky in Galway this year and the handicapper gave him 4lb for that. He gave him 4lb for being second another day as well and sometimes when horses like this get two penalties for being second, they struggle. . Thankfully we got away with it and he got his win for the year. He was off injured early in the year, so it's great. . Padraic (Connolly) and the syndicate are from Galway and that was his first run in Galway this year when we ran him first time back.

It was lovely to get a maiden with her, she's a filly that had good form last year at the Curragh. She finished fifth at the Curragh last time, Shane had ridden her work and was fairly confident with her. She had come on a good bit from the Curragh. You'd imagine that Curragh form was going to stand to her today as this mightn't have been the strongest of maidens. Aidan's came out and Joseph's came out so you could understand why she shortened in price. She deserved that on last year's form. She's by Gleneagles and wouldn't mind a little bit more ease in the ground. She's out of a six-time winning Exceed And Excel mare but seven furlongs to a mile would be fine. She can be a little bit saucy and has a little bit of a funny head carriage but she could be progressive. She came out of the breeze-ups here last year and it's brilliant for John (Bowden) to get a winner, she's a grand filly to have. She has a nice pedigree and to win a maiden with her will help.

He’s a horse that has been given us a bit of trouble at home. He’s keen and we were running him over six furlongs just to try and hold on to him. I thought the step up to seven would suit him today, in a race like this with plenty of pace. Ben said he relaxed well, was a bit green when he went for him first, but he said he finished the race out strongly. He hasn’t been doing that. We’re happy that he has today and he’s on the right track. Hopefully, he can keep improving now. He’s bred to probably stay another furlong, but I’d say seven is a good trip at the moment.
