The Raceday Stewards interviewed Neve Bennett, rider of The Right One, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted she was in breach of the whip regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered her record (second offence), they suspended her for four racedays

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Daniel James Murphy, trainer of Methodtomy Madness, due to be ridden by J.S. Dalton (10lbs claimer), in relation to a request that his charge be led to the start having already sought and received approval for Methodtomy Madness to leave the parade ring early. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that his charge had been led to the start on its only two previous runs and having initially felt that his charge had turned a corner and no longer needed to be led to the start, he thought it better to ask permission prior to saddling. Mr Murphy confirmed that he was unaware of Rule 153(v) which states that a horse which needs to be led to the start shall be deemed an unsuitable ride for a 10lbs claiming rider and on realising this, he withdrew the request. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that they could not ignore that a request to lead Methodtomy Madness to the start had come before them and in the circumstances informed Mr. Murphy that as per Rule 153(v) Methodtomy Madness was not a suitable ride for a 10lb claiming rider on this occasion. They ordered that a suitable replacement rider be found and failing that, the animal would be withdrawn by order of the Raceday Stewards. The trainer subsequently informed the Raceday Stewards that he could not find a suitable replacement rider and consented to the withdrawal of Methodtomy Madness. When considering the matter of how a 10lbs claimer was booked to ride a horse with a chequered history, they were satisfied that at the time of booking, the trainer was satisfied that his charge no longer needed to be led to the start and therefore took no further action regarding this matter.
