The previously frustrating gelding finally opened his account over course and distance last time, and with the confidence of that success should go well off a 4lb higher mark. Fergal Birrane has taken Dundalk by storm this season, and California Lad bids for a course and distance hat-trick following two recent wins. Alcander has kept his form well since scoring over a mile and a half in December, and it will be interesting to see how he copes with this shorter distance.
