Formscan By Alan Magee - EASY BOY showed much improved form on his seasonal reappearance over an extended nine furlongs at Ballinrobe last week and, if avoiding the bounce factor, has a great chance to open his account here. Pat Martin’s charge was not surprisingly given a basement rating after a moderate juvenile campaign but certainly showed there is light at the end of tunnel at the western venue. He did well to get involved having run freely early when caught wide from an outside draw, and was eventually beaten less than a length in third behind Best Kept Secret. A 3lb rise for that effort is fair, and he appears to have the pace for this shorter trip. Benjalina can run with the choke out a bit but has shown some promise in maidens and now tackles handicap company for the first time. Robbie Downey is good value for his 5lb claim. High Pitch shaped quite well in his first handicap at Sligo, and could well be suited by this step back in trip.
