Formscan By Alan Magee - John McConnell trains close-by this summer track, and it’s likely he’s had this Festival meeting in mind over the past few weeks for WALKINGONMOONBEAMS. She showed plenty of promise on debut over this trip at Navan, and was only a few lengths behind Dawn Mirage who landed a maiden at Gowran Park on Tuesday evening. A subsequent outing at Listowel is probably best forgotten due to the very testing ground, and she could provide a bit of value against the more experienced Lord Carleton. Fran Berry’s mount was placed on all four juvenile outings including at the Galway Festival, and his latest third on the Polytrack at Dundalk has been well advertised this term. The winner Algonquin scored again at the Curragh last weekend, while runner-up Sacrificial has won twice this year and is now rated 97 after a highly creditable third in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot. Lehbab was never involved on debut at Ballinrobe last week but kept on in encouraging fashion to take second behind shock winner Wider World, and is bound to progress from that experience.
