Formscan - Although no match for an impressive winner in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock last time out, it was still a fine effort in defeat from PADDY THE SQUIRE. The son of Golden Horn has much less on his plate here and compensation could await despite having a 2lb higher mark to contend with. Melek Alreeh went agonisingly close at Newbury last time and he merits plenty of respect, as does the lightly-raced Ribble Vibe, for all that there is a suspicion slower ground would be more suitable for him.
