Formscan By Gary Carson - Aidan O'Brien looks like he could dominate this with three smart sorts lining up for the Listed prize. Traditionally Ballydoyle inmates need a run on their seasonal debuts but surely MENDELSSOHN will have plenty done for this assignment with Ryan Moore coming over for the mount. The Scat Daddy colt ran out a good winner of the Juvenile Turf at the Breeders Cup last November and this could be the first step towards a tilt at the Kentucky Derby. He is a half-sister to star mare Beholder and could be real serious contender for the 'Run for the Roses' considering his dirt pedigree. Of the other two there probably isn't a lot between Seahenge and Threenandfourpence, who were third and fourth in the Dewhurst when Mendelssohn chased home U S Navy Flag. On that form they would should play second fiddle to their stable-mate again. Blackgold Fairy won well here when taking her maiden last month but this is a serious step up while a similar comments apply to Ship Of Dreams, who scored here in January, and Zihba, who won on the surface in December.
