Formscan By Donal Murphy - This looks a match between Mikael D'Haguenet and MOUNT BENBULBEN, with the Gordon Elliott trained gelding just being favoured. MOUNT BENBULBEN was coming to challenge Mikael D'Haguenet at Punchestown last time out when he fell at the third last. Mikael D'Haguenet was then set for a cosy win coming down to the last but he made a dreadful mistake and El Fontan seized the initiative to land the spoils. The duo are certainly not known for their jumping prowess but they have tonnes of ability and have shown that over smaller obstacles. The selection is a point-to-point winner and has only been tried twice over fences on the racecourse as opposed to his more experienced rival who has failed to score on six attempts. He is also the younger of the two, has a lot less mileage on the clock and is open to further improvement all factors which make me side with him.
