Formscan By Gary Carson - THE MAD WELL was a winner here over Christmas and has held his form well since. He ran well when chasing home Hard Bought at Gowran Park just over a week ago and back on this track he looks the one they have to beat now. He is fancied to again account for Sydney Thompson, who was just a neck behind last time, but hasn't run particularly well on a couple of visits here previously. Tiger Bay Lady ran well last time when chasing home Captainofthefleet at Thurles and also here previously when third. She drops back from three miles now and that has to be a bit of a worry for the former point-to-pointer. Ruby Walsh is an eye-catching booking for Knockraha Pylon. She's still relatively unexposed and didn't run too badly at Clonmel last time when let down slightly by her jumping. She could be a big player here.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (116 = 11st 10lb)Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb Penalties - -Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 116 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 116 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
