The point to-point winner took high rank over hurdles last season winning the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham and landed a Grade 2 here over this trip with Better Days Ahead over five lengths behind in fourth. That rival also won his only point-to-point start and went on to enjoy success at the Cheltenham Festival in the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle. The other two runners didn’t reach the same heights over hurdles with Kinturk Kalanisi winning a maiden here and placed in valuable staying handicaps, while point-to-point winner Big Stage may progress from a recent run over fences.
