Going - Soft To Heavy (Heavy In Places). Overcast

Formscan By Gary Carson - Mount Benbulben hasn't convinced with his jumping since going over the larger obstacles and is hard to fancy after a bad blunder forced him to pull up in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown over Christmas. Jenari, who also failed to complete in the Topaz Novice Chase when unseating, has been well held by a couple of decent sorts and looks just short of the top level. He's still a decent sort, however, and sets a good standard off a mark of 138. The German-bred MARITO made a big impression on his chasing bow at Thurles and the second has franked that form since. The seven-year-old had some smart form on the level and over hurdles in Germany and France and looks like he could be a really smart recruit to chasing. He faces tougher opposition now but is fancied to take the step up. Beeverstown beat a smart hurdler in Turban when scoring at Limerick and looks a better horse over fences. This is a tougher assignment now and it will be interesting to see how he fares.
