Formscan By Gary Carson - COMPETITIVE EDGE looks interesting here on his handicap debut over fences. He has shown enough in some good novice chases to give him a chance off this kind of mark. He won twice over hurdles and the second of those was off a rating of 115, just a pound less than he has been awarded over fences. Both wins came on testing conditions and trainer Conor O'Dwyer felt the son of Presenting would be a better horse over fences. Luke's Benefit arrives here on a hat-trick but this may be a tough ask after a hard fought victory at Punchestown last Monday. Rubert ran a cracker when chasing home Jacksonslady at Leopardstown but having been put back up to a mark of 119 now he may find a couple better handicapped. Hughies Grey is a decent sort and is slipping to a nice mark as he makes his first start for new trainer Garvan Donnelly. Another who has slipped a fair bit in ratings is his former stable-mate Quartetto, who has also switched yards and now lines out for Tom Taaffe.
