Formscan By Tom Weekes - JADE DE GRUGY faces a task at these weights but was a smart novice last season and can progress in open company. Both the selection and high-class mare Brighterdaysahead underperformed when beaten in Cheltenham’s mares’ novice hurdle last March but Jade De Grugy bounced back to subsequently win a Grade 1 later that month. In the past, her trainer has used today’s race as a springboard to Cheltenham, with top class mares Annie Power and Quevega. Gaoth Chuil has proven handicap form but would ideally prefer further and lacks the selection’s scope for improvement. Lot Of Joy is useful on her day but flopped on her previous start and should struggle to win.
