Formscan - Scarpia edged a narrow verdict over 2m7f at Worcester last time out and might be suited by this sterner test of stamina. However, GENTLEMAN VALLEY was more convincing in winning his last three starts and Ben Pauling's gelding is capable of taking another step forward. Shantou Express needs to reverse the Worcester form with Scarpia, but stamina is assured following his C&D victory on his penultimate start and he is likely to be competitive once again.
