Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - Barry Connell and Danny Mullins have a good team going into battle at this meeting. SAMMY BLACK looks another big contender for them here. The experience he's gained in big field Leopardstown handicaps when well fancied, the last twice, should prove invaluable in this company. Placed behind a horse on the up, in Shariyan, on both those occasions, Sammy Black does drop back to two miles now, which could be a worry, but on the plus side he's receiving weight from some of the other more likely types. Of course the fly in the ointment for his chance could be Un De Sceaux (must concede eight pounds to Sammy Black). He apparently took two APQS French bumper races over a mile and a half, with ease. Un De Sceaux's sire, Denham Red, is principally known to us through the exploits of Il En Reve and Ouzbeck and they both seemed to produce their best form on top of the ground. There are a few others with chances but they'll do well to match the aforementioned duo.
