He can show the benefit of a recent run when a fair fifth at Cork. Bal De Rio has loads of placed form over flights and his fourth in a 2m Flat handicap last week at Galway was a fine effort. He’s a major player, along with bumper winner Gun Merchant (first-time cheekpieces) whose two hurdle efforts in July were respectable. Malbas is a useful 12f winner on the Flat and should make a hurdler in time, but might improve for the experience on this occasion.
