Formscan By Gary Carson - THOUVA was well punted on his chasing debut here at the end of October and may be able to recoup some loses now. The lightly raced French-bred had two hurdles outing last January before switching his attentions to the larger obstacles and there was plenty of confidence in his chances. He ran a decent race in third and is entitled to come on from that effort which would make him the one to beat here. Trainer Noel Meade also runs Westhaven but he would need to improve on what he has shown over fences on two runs this season to be a threat. King Of The Refs is a talented if frustrating horse over hurdles and has had a couple of outings over fences. He ran a decent race at Fairyhouse on his chase debut but wasn't sighted at Down Royal. He comes here off the back of a decent effort in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse recently and has to be a threat.
