FormscanBy Mark Nunan - The well-bred FEDERICA SOPHIA looks interesting on just her second run in handicaps after a fair fourth, when returning from a long lay-off, over 1m2f last month. Plenty of people are a bit wary when they see a combination of a step-up in trip and first-time blinkers for a horse, but Dermot Weld’s record when he reaches for headgear is reassuring in that regard. Vultan was an easy winner on handicap debut at Roscommon and, although being raised a stone in the ratings looks harsh, he’s open to more improvement. Aesop was disappointing at the Curragh after a good win at this track in April, but he’ll enjoy going 1m4f and is another to consider. Morph Speed was all out to win last week at Leopardstown and this is tougher, but he’s going the right way and Chris Hayes rides him for the first time off a handy weight.
