Prior to this race, Billy Aprahamian was asked to explain the reason why he was running El Rayo (GB) here at Huntingdon on going described as Good, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Ludlow on 2 April 2025 on ground with the same official description.
Aprahamian explained that having walked the course at Ludlow, in his opinion it was riding quicker than described and he therefore declared El Rayo (GB) a non- runner.
Having spoken to his representative who had walked the course at Huntingdon today, they agreed that the ground was more suitable, and they were happy to let the gelding take its chance.
His explanation was noted.
Calli Black (IRE), trained by David Weston was late in the Parade Ring, due to difficulty saddling the mare.
