The Stewards interviewed M.P. Walsh, rider of Kinneagh Cross, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) and 10.4 in that he used the whip with excessive frequency, while failing to give his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day. Noel Lawlor, trainer of Jack The Hat, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge lost a shoe in running. F.G. Hand, trainer of Bank The Bucks, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge scoped badly post race.
