It was noted that approaching the ½ furlong marker, Sean Davis, the rider of Bell Heather (IRE), placed third, struck Nearooz (GB), placed second, once across its head with his whip, but after viewing a recording of the race the Stewards were satisfied that it was accidental.
The performance of Romola (GB), which finished last of the six runners, beaten by 7 lengths, was considered.
