Sam Twiston-Davies was questioned regarding his riding of Tommy The Tank (IRE), having appeared to be tenderly handled in the home-straight, finishing fourth of five runners, beaten by ½ a length for third.
Twiston-Davies reported that his horse had hung and jumped right-handed throughout and having weakened significantly turning into the home-straight, wanted to hold the gelding together and get him to jump safely and finish the best he could.
When he felt Doctor Midas (FR) challenging for third place in the final strides he asked Tommy The Tank (IRE) more vigorously for an effort however the gelding found nothing and appeared to have no more to give.
