Sophar Sogood (IRE), ridden by Alec Voikhansky, had arrived at the start with only one stirrup, as the right one had become detached on the way to post, with a replacement refitted at the start.
Voikhansky was unseated approximately 4 furlongs after the start when the left stirrup became detached.
Voikhansky was interviewed, shown recordings of the incident and his equipment was inspected by the Stewards.
It was established that his stirrup became detached as a result of it being incorrectly fastened to the saddle, causing him to be unseated.
Voikhansky was fined £140 for the saddling error and a report was forwarded to the British Racing School regarding the incident.
Following the race, Tom Queally reported that Make My Day (IRE), unplaced, was hampered by the loose horse 2 furlongs out and Harry Davies reported that Mellow Magic (GB), unplaced, was hampered by the loose horse 3 furlongs out.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Baasem (USA), unplaced, had bled from the nose.
