Permission was given for Carmela (IRE) and Queen Olly (IRE) to both wear a red hood to the start.
The Starter reported that Mawj (IRE) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
Saeed Sin Suroor was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner Mawj (IRE), ridden by Ray Dawson and Lezoo (GB), placed second, ridden by Frankie Dettori.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Mawj (IRE)’s placing as despite being moved off its intended line and receiving a slight bump Lezoo (GB) appeared to lose little momentum as a result and Dettori at no point had to stop riding, to be beaten half a length at the line.
The Stewards were unable to be satisfied that Lezoo (GB) would have finished ahead of Mawj (IRE) with a clear run and accordingly ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
Dawson was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount from drifting left-handed and moving Lezoo (GB) off its intended line.
Following the race, David Egan reported that Maylandsea (GB), placed fifth, ran too freely.
