An enquiry was held to consider how Fern Owl (GB), trained by John Butler arrived at the start wearing an eyeshield instead of the declared eyecover and therefore had to be withdrawn.
John Butler and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
The trainer pointed out that he had brought two different types of headgear to the course but unfortunately neither were the required eyecover.
Noting that the Clerk of the Scales had also seen the headgear and failed to identify the error, the Stewards imposed no fine upon the trainer and forwarded a report to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.

Amended 17 July 2019] The winner, Genuine Approval (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Leicester on 27 June 2019 where the mare finished fourteenth of sixteen, beaten by 47 lengths.
John Butler explained that Genuine Approval (IRE) had benefited from the reapplication of a tongue strap and also appreciated a return to the Tapeta surface on this occasion.
The mare was routine tested.
Following the race, Nicola Currie reported that Maiden Navigator (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run approaching 2 furlongs out, Daniel Muscutt reported that Doctor Wonderful (GB), placed seventh, was never travelling; Kevin Frost reported that the gelding had a breathing problem.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Steccando (IRE), unplaced, revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia.

Fern Owl was withdrawn not under orders. Rule 4 applies to all bets, deduction 15 cent in the euro.
