THE BET £10 GET £40 WITH BETMGM HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) (Rider Restricted Race) Permission was given for Bad Habits (IRE) to go to post early and for Instant Bond (GB) and Nammos (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Thomas Faulkner was cautioned as Prince Ali (GB) had arrived in the Parade Ring without its declared cheek pieces, which were then located and fitted to the gelding before going to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the first bend involving Instant Bond (GB), placed third, ridden by John Egan and Oldbury Lad (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Thomas Greatrex.
Egan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he made insufficient effort to prevent his mount moving left- handed when insufficiently clear of Oldbury Lad, causing Greatrex to take a check on the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference at the end of the back straight involving Faster Bee (GB), unplaced, ridden by Gina Mangan, Bad Habits (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Taryn Langley and Haziym (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Matthew Lloyd Slater.
Being a 7lb claimer, Lloyd Slater was offered accompaniment but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental as a hard-pulling Haziym (IRE) had edged slightly left-handed whilst Lloyd Slater had limited control of the gelding at the same time as Faster Bee (GB) had moved very marginally right-handed going into the bend and as a result Bad Habits (IRE) clipped the heels of Faster Bee (GB) and stumbled very badly.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the home turn involving Nammos (GB), placed second, ridden by Ashley Lewis, Bad Habits (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Taryn Langley and Prince Ali (GB), unplaced, ridden by Zoe Lewis.
Being a 7lb claimer, Zoe Lewis was offered accompaniment but declined.
Ashley Lewis was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he switched his mount right-handed when insufficiently clear of Bad Habits (IRE), bumping that runner which was moved off its intended line and in turn hampered Prince Ali (GB) which was also carried wider.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Blueandtangerine (GB), unplaced, bled from the nose.
