THE SOUTH DOWNS WATER HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) (GBBPLUS RACE) An enquiry was held to consider interference a furlong out, involving the winner, Naval Tribute (GB), ridden by Cieren Fallon, Baileys Khelstar (FR), placed second, ridden by Harry Davies and Personal Best (GB), placed third, ridden by Rob Hornby.
Fallon was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed without timely correction when insufficiently clear of Baileys Khelstar (FR) carrying that gelding off its intended onto Personal Best (GB), who as a result was moved off its intended line.
An enquiry was held to consider interference ½ a furlong out, involving the winner, Naval Tribute (GB), ridden by Cieren Fallon and Personal Best (GB), placed third, ridden by Rob Hornby.
The interference was found to be accidental as Naval Tribute (GB) hung persistently left-handed despite Fallon’s best efforts to correct to the gelding, causing Hornby to check when tightened for room.
Following the race, Jack Dace reported that Now The Eagle (FR), unplaced, ran flat having ran 5 days previously.
