Permission was given for Marching Mac (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood, for CONNIE’S ROSE to wear a red hood, and for Savannah Smiles (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood.
Approximately 1 furlong after the start, a free-running On Edge (GB), unplaced, made brief contact with Court Drive (IRE), unplaced, moving the filly off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Marching Mac (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 14 September 2025 where the gelding finished eleventh of sixteen runners, beaten by 5 lengths on Soft ground.
The representative of Phil McEntee’s explanation that Marching Mac (IRE) appreciated the return to Heavy ground on this occasion was noted.
Marching Mac (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Gina Mangan reported that On Edge (GB), unplaced, ran too free in the early stages of the race and then stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer examined the gelding post-race and had nothing to report.
