The winner, Flying Verse (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Ffos Las on 12 July 2019 where the gelding finished last of the five finishers, beaten by 63½ lengths, over 2 miles 5 furlongs.
David Dennis’ explanation that Flying Verse (GB) had appreciated the step up in trip to 3 miles 2 furlongs and by having its second run over fences, was noted.
Following the race, James Bowen reported that Fifty Shades (IRE), which started favourite and was pulled up, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Gamain (IRE), placed third, finished lame on its left fore.
