Famous colours in the winners’ enclosure at Downpatrick
He was very keen and free, and he had only one run over hurdles. The track's undulations might not have been in his favour. They have done a great job on the track; it is watered and credit to them as it is as good as I've seen all over Ireland. We were happy to run him and take his chance. It all worked out well. He was a bit keen, but during the race Dan got him switched off. He was a bit novicey but, overall, you'd be very happy and he won well. There is only one winning post and it is fair stiff from the furlong (pole) home, you see an awful lot of results changing at Downpatrick and Galway and all those places with a stiff finish. That man (King) is one of the best lads riding and he knows where the winning post is and that is what counts.
Ripsnorter makes most for 14/1 success at Downpatrick
Danny is very lucky for us. Danny is a past master at those at those front-racing tactics. This horse is owned by a great, long-standing friend of mine called Hugh Laing. He hasn't been very well of late, so I hope this gives him a boost. He had (kept a bit under the bonnet). We ran him in a hood today and he probably wasn't as hard on himself. We like Downpatrick, it has been lucky for us. He'll jump a fence, so there's good days ahead.

He was unlucky here at Downpatrick before Galway. Donagh couldn't get over how well he travelled today. He gets on very well with the horse and I'm delighted for him as well. We have been hitting the crossbar the last couple of weeks and a few near misses, so it was lovely for us. He's a lovely horse and I’m delighted for the people that own him, they are from Meath, and Paul Garvey would be the head of the syndicate. He would be a friend of ours and he actually built our house. I'd say definitely (look to come back to Downpatrick), because he could nearly have three won here (unseated in June). Obviously, horses for courses. We'll have to come back here again. He's a good, honest horse. I thought with the weight, giving a stone to the favourite, that it might catch him out, but Donagh said he felt great and he loved the ground.
Beggars Rock gives Kevin Sexton a second winner at Downpatrick
I'd say the ground maybe turned up too slow (in Galway). I didn't even want to run him again after Galway and the owners said we will give him one more go. He's after winning two, thank God. He got it handy there in front today, his jumping is very good. I was worried that he was down in trip, but we were hoping Finnians Row would go a gallop and make it a test and he didn't, but Kevin was good on him. I was watching and at the fourth-last I was saying, 'Go on, kick him on!', and he wasn't. I’m delighted for the owners. I'd say we might end up coming back over hurdles the next day (in Downpatrick) - he's rated 100 over hurdles. I had him in at Fontwell on Friday and I was going to bring him and the English handicapper gave him 8lb, so I didn't bother. He repaid us there. I rang the boys and they let me go to Downpatrick instead, and it worked out.
