An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race involving the winner, Mighty River (IRE), ridden by Rossa Ryan and Mohatu (GB), placed second, ridden by Cieren Fallon.
Having heard the evidence, the Stewards considered that the interference was accidental and had not improved Mighty River (IRE)’s placing in that Mohatu (GB) had run onto the rear of Mighty River (IRE), making contact with its hindquarters and that Mighty River (IRE) was going away from Mohatu (GB) with a length between them at the line.
Jamie Spencer the rider of Tabaretta (FR), placed third, beaten a nose for second, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
Spencer explained that Tabaretta (FR) ducked left-handed at the stalls exit causing him to have to correct his mount and therefore lose his momentum in the final strides.
His explanation was noted.
