Tom Buckley, the rider of Garincha (IRE), was unseated after the crossing at the entrance to the home straight on the second circuit.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved and caused by the gelding ducking right-handed.
Lewis Stones, the rider of the winner, Notre Pari (IRE), had fallen shortly after the winning line after his mount had collided with a section of running rail which had been positioned to doll off an area of the course.
The rider, the Clerk of the Course and a representative of the Managing Executive were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Stones explained that he had walked the course ahead of racing and was aware of the rail alignment.
He added that Notre Pari (IRE) had hung right-handed after the final hurdle and that in a driving finish he was unaware of his proximity to the rail.
The Clerk of the Course explained that the rail configuration was in place to preserve an area of worn ground and the alignment had approval from the Inspector of Courses and had been used without incident previously.
Their explanations were noted.
