Third time's a Charm for Oliver filly
She's just physically improving. She's quite a tall filly and she just is coming into herself. She had a bit of an accident prior to racing at Naas the last time (in late April) and had to be taken out of the race. It delayed her a bit. She was declared the last time for 10 furlongs, so we thought 10 was her trip. She has run well at Dundalk, so I don't think she is ground dependent, but she did handle that. I was delighted with it. We were seeing that at home, so we wanted to make sure it came to the racecourse.

Carroll doubles up on 'too impressive' Albatala
Too impressive! The ground is important to her. Cillian (McConnell) rode her in the Student Derby (Curragh, 2023) and led everywhere bar the line that day and cost us a lot of money - I'm only forgiving him now!. She loved that ground and the last day was probably too quick for her. I think anything with 'good' in it is probably too quick for her. I told Gary she stays well and that's why he sent her on, but he didn't realise he had sent her on that much. I’m delighted for the owner who has been very, very patient with her and me, and got his reward today, so hopefully she can go on. She has obviously hurdle form as well, so she might mix it through the summer.
Whelan adds (Ulster) Oaks to Derby success
It is great to see her rewarded. She has been running well in good pots and good handicaps as well. She was always going to do that, win a decent pot and it is great we got it today. The lads (Trouble & Strife Syndicate) came up from Kilkenny. It is great for them and she is a good filly. They enjoy her and knock good craic out of her. Ronan was excellent on her, and he is after twinning the Derby and the Oaks!. We'll see where we go after that, there's plenty of those fillies' handicaps as well too. We will try and keep her to them if we can, see what the handicapper does. She did win well, but she loves that ground. She has won in Gowran Park on soft ground, and she has won on a cut in the ground in Tramore as well. When everything falls right for her, she can be good. She was third in a premier handicap and was placed a good few times, and she is a good, sound filly.

Coup for Ahern as Counting lands Down Royal finale at 25/1
I have him three years and he just ran into a few little problems. We'll probably go to Galway now for a maiden hurdle, and he might go for the Apprentice Derby next Friday night and then onto Galway. He's an exciting horse.
