I was confident coming in today that there was a big run on the cards so I'm delighted he has proved it. It's slow ground, it is nearly soft. It's going well, I've a bit of luck on my side and momentum there at the moment so hopefully it will keep going. He's still immature but he has a grand way of going and he settled in well. He has plenty of pace for five furlongs especially on that soft ground. He's in again at Gowran on Wednesday over seven furlongs. We'll see what yer man (the handicapper) does and also the man above with the ground. It's nice to get a winner on Guineas day. W McCreery, trainer
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (100 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 100 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 100 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 100 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
