An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the home straight, involving the winner, Red Tsarina (GB), ridden by Jamie Spencer and MIMI’S MAGIC, placed second, ridden by Hollie Doyle.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Red Tsarina (GB)’s placing, as although MIMI’S MAGIC was intimidated off its intended line from approaching the final furlong, there was never any contact between the two runners and therefore they could not be satisfied that any ground or momentum lost by Mimi's Magic (GB), exceeded the neck margin by which it was beaten.
Spencer was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed, without sufficient correction for some distance, resulting in MIMI’S MAGIC being intimidated several horse widths off its intended racing line.
Following the race, Neil Callan reported that Sweet Love (GB), placed fifth, hung right-handed throughout.
