An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference after the final hurdle when the winner, No Risk Des Flos (FR), ridden by Harry Skelton, interfered with Thereisnodoubt (IRE), placed second, ridden by Derek Fox.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved No Risk Des Flos’ (FR) placing as although Thereisnodoubt (IRE) was carried off his line when making ground, Fox never stopped riding and appeared to lose little or no momentum as a result of the bump he received close to the line.
Furthermore, No Risk Des Flos (FR) always appeared to be holding Thereisnodoubt (IRE) with the winning margin at the line being a neck.
Skelton was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction taking Thereisnodoubt (IRE) off its intended line.
