Royal reigns in Navan opener
She was drawn on the wrong side in the Curragh, but she did run well. Her work has been good all along and improving all the time. She went off favourite in the Curragh because we fancied her, I suppose. I think there is still plenty of scope for improvement. She was a bit green there and got there plenty soon enough and rolled around plenty. I think in a better race she could be better again. She's one of those ones that just keeps improving week on week. Hopefully, she will keep doing it. She will be for sale and whether that means she leaves the yard or goes away, I'm not sure. She is a nice filly that we would love to have for next year. She has loads of size and scope, and she's above average.
Slaudeen strikes late
He did (keep finding up the hill) and he's a horse that will ideally go back up to seven (furlongs) in time. He hasn't been doing things right in his races, so we just dropped him back to six. He has been gelded and he did everything right today. Shane said he won snug enough in the end, so it is great to see him do that. There's not even a blow out of him there. We'll just see what happens with him now, he's a nice horse and we will chat to the team and see where we go next with him.
Amicitia on top for Murtagh
Nezeeh gets going late to score again
Katashuna off the mark for Weld and Hayes
.She’s a fine, big mare and got an excellent ride from Chris Hayes. A lovely-striding big-mare and he utilised that ,and I have an old saying 'she attacked the hill'. Rolled away lovely. Nice performance and we will see how she comes out of the race and then we will go from there.
Double for Weld and Hayes as Shamalza hangs on
She’s a lovely-bred filly, the family has been very lucky for me. We have trained Group winners of the family. She has been a late-maturing filly, a late-developing filly. We had waited for what we had hoped would be nice ease in the ground but, to be fair to Navan, it was safe ground. It was fast ground, but perfectly safe ground and I was happy to let her take her chance. She battled very well and very pleased with her. She got a little bit tired on her first run and I would anticipate plenty of improvement.
Sheridan shines on Harseva
Great to get a run, I thought she would get in as the ground tightened up. She does like it here and Joey gave her a great ride, he is riding really well. She was also only beaten less than six lengths at Leopardstown (in July). I wouldn't be afraid to go back to Dundalk with her. Her run there the last time was too bad to be true.
Lady springs 125/1 shock in finale
Her first run was education and on her second run she just got held up and into all sorts of trouble at Leopardstown at the bend. We knew coming here she was still a bit green, she has her own way of doing things. We knew the ability was there and we were hoping that this track would suit her. Ground and everything went to plan. Adam gave her a lovely ride, finished well. She needed every yard of it actually, and I'm delighted with that. It is small steps. She will handle a bit of cut, so we have options towards the end of the year and I think it is only the start of her career. The syndicate is three brothers from Dromore - the Mackey brothers and I would have played rugby with them. That's how long back we go! . They have waited patiently and deserved the win. They are great lads and have thoroughly deserved the win.
