THE CHECK OUT FAIRPLAY'S CHELTENHAM OFFERS HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 3) (GBB RACE) An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the bend into the home straight, involving Uncle Phil (IRE), placed third, ridden by Isabelle Ryder and Western General (IRE), placed second, ridden by Freddie Gingell.
Tristan Durrell, the rider of the winner, Largy Belter (IRE), was also interviewed but found to be not involved.
The interference was found to be accidental as after jumping the second last fence Uncle Phil (IRE) and Western General (IRE) made slight contact causing both runners to become unbalanced rounding the bend.
