Flattered prevails in three-way finish
One for the locals at Kilbeggan as Killian's Garden gets it done
He was very game, he had to dig deep there. It’s probably as quick as he wants it but with the level of race and it being our local track, local owner, it was important that we came here,. He’ll want a trip in time but it’s lovely to go and win a maiden hurdle here. What a ride by Eoin Walsh, he was excellent. He showed loads of confidence and I was very impressed with him. He’ll probably take a little bit of time after that run as he had to dig deep there, he won’t be rushed out. He’s probably a horse for next year really. He’s still immature and he’s learning his job so we won’t rush him. He’s done that now so we’ll regroup now. For us to have a local winner here is like having five or six winners. It’s lovely for our yard.
Reverend Hubert much too strong for Kilbeggan opponents
His Mallow form was probably good enough, I thought he was a bit unlucky there myself,. It was a lovely race for him with the conditions. I’d say a small field suits him, he doesn’t really like a big field. Top weight in Galway was always going to be a big ask. I wasn’t too disappointed with him in Galway, I didn’t really expect too much there to be honest. It was great to get this with him. The plan was to make it a test as there was a question mark about the rest of them staying, he totally out-stayed the second horse. There is a similar race in Down Royal at the end of the month. He’s badly handicapped over fences, we’ll have to have a look at the Flat as well.
Hardy Diamond registers 2nd Kilbeggan success
My Gaffer takes the feature at Kilbeggan
I’m delighted with that. He’s not over big and hopefully the handicapper isn’t too hard on him,. He gave him a lovely ride. He’s in great form and he’s a well-bred horse. He’s a smashing horse, a grand horse to have, and there’s more left in him, he’s only seven. We’ll probably run him over hurdles in Listowel, there is a race in Killarney for him as well. He goes on soft ground as well. He’s a Malinas, they are good horses, and he’s out of a Supreme Leader mare so he’s bred to go on soft. He’ll go through the winter.
All's well that ends well for Fahey in finale
We always thought an awful lot of this horse,. I wanted to go to Galway but Cathal was keen to have a winner at his local track, with his family and all here. Thank-God it worked out. I think he’s a very nice horse. John came back in and said the tight track wasn’t ideal for him, he’s a big strong horse. He’s something to really look forward to, if he's not sold. He’s a right good horse for the future. He probably wants a little over two miles as well. They went a nice gallop today and what I liked about him was that he showed plenty of guts. He won half snug in the end. He’s a great horse to go forward with. If he’s not sold we’ll have great fun with him.
