THE SCONE PALACE INTERNATIONAL HORSE TRIALS CONDITIONAL JOCKEYS' HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Storm The Dug (FR) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the bend turning into the home straight involving Lucky In Taipan (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Callum Pritchard, and Scots Poet (GB), which unseated, ridden by Charlie Maggs.
Jack Power, the rider of Tigress Lilly (GB), placed fifth, and Rian Corcoran, the rider of CENTURION’S SISTER (IRE), placed third, were also interviewed but found not to be involved in the interference.
As this was a race for Conditional riders, all riders were accompanied in the enquiry by a Jockey Coach.
Pritchard was suspended for 7 days for careless riding as on the bend after the third-last hurdle he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction causing Scots Poet (GB) to become short of room resulting in the gelding being caught on heels and subsequently unseating Maggs.
