Ballinea proves a Star on third start

She is a good filly and some of the ones who beat her the last day are proper horses. She was green the last day but was straight as a gun barrel today and is getting better with her run. We're very happy with her and I think Robson is talking about going for the Airlie Stud Stakes (June 27) next. She is ground-versatile and Robson thinks an awful lot of her.

At long last he has delivered for us. We will have him two years by next month and he has run in all the big races but has been the bridesmaid on several occasions. He handled soft ground on a couple of occasions last year, but I think it isn't suiting him anymore and as a result he has dropped to a nice mark. We were hoping he'd come alive back on today's fast ground and it is good timing ahead of Jagged Edge's run at Royal Ascot next week. I'm delighted for Amo and that's their first winner for me. He had been bought for Royal Ascot last year where he ran a cracker from a low draw. Kia (Joorabchian) rang me during the week to see about entering him for the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot but he would have been too low to get in so we'll see now and toy with the idea of running him on fast ground in the UK.

Kendall Roy succeeds to Listed class at Cork

This is absolutely brilliant. He was delayed coming home from Bahrain so had a break under the sun and while race-fitness was against us today, he had been absolutely bouncing coming off the plane. I wanted to keep his one 'fresh' run for this Listed race and I actually fancied him as he had already beaten whatever was in today's field. He loves Cork and loves fast ground. He had won on his first run in Bahrain (in December) but then he became keen and his head went, as the track goes downhill over there.

I hadn’t ridden her much at home but Denis had told me that she had a chance here today. I hadn’t ridden her in a race for a while either and she had been missing the break, so he told me to get her out of the stalls. I would actually have won further but she didn’t do a whole lot in front, and that’s just her. I think she is in-foal to Blackbeard and they had also mentioned the Rockingham for her as a possibility next.

She is still learning and was green enough today. We didn't get after her last year as she was a little bit weak, and today it is only her third run. Before she ran this year, we did a couple of bits of work with her, but I wasn't sure where she fitted. I said we'd give her a run to find out and that's why she was 25/1 the first day. She has a good attitude, and I'd say the Irish Oaks is where we'll go now. It was a good performance, and it is my first runner for Newtown Anner Stud.

'Huge' Hambelton relishes a sound surface at Cork

He is a huge, huge horse. He is like a point-to-pointer and is a typical Ghaiyyath. He is brilliantly behaved at home, a child would ride him, but he likes to get on with the job at the racecourse. To be fair to him, that's the first time he has ever stepped foot on good ground and that is what he has been crying out for. The ground came up too soft for him at Haydock the last day and I think he is a very nice horse who will progress a lot. He'll be sold later in the year and could be a lovely horse for someone for next year.
