Trainer Peter Casey believes that a change of tactics proved the key for Jack The Bus, who was pulled up on his last start at Thurles.

His amateur son and namesake was content to ride a waiting race, creeping into contention three out and throwing down a challenge going to the last. He kept on strongly to lead on the run-in without the pilot having to get too serious.

Oscar Time tracked the leaders throughout before making his challenge two out. He held a narrow lead going to the last but had no more to offer when tackled by the winner on the run-in.

Ballytrim travelled into contention three out but came under pressure in fourth before the next. He stayed on to third on the run-in without looking a threat.

Bronte Bay was to the fore throughout. He took up the running before four out but a sloppy jump at the second last saw him come under pressure. He wasn't too smart at the last either, when held in second, and weakened on the run-in.

Got Attitude (11/2 to 7/2) was well-backed and was one of five with chances going to three out. He soon came under pressure after the flight, however, and could only plug on one-paced.

Favourite Sigma Ditigal (3/1 to 5/2) never got involved and was getting reminders going out for the final circuit.

Scavenger (5/1 to 13/2) was a drifter and weakened quickly turning in after making most of the running.

The non-runners were The Dotted Line (lame) and Cailin Vic Mo Cri (throat infection).
