The Stewards enquired into an incident in the latter stages of this race involving Machiavelli (GB), ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed fifth, Night Of Power, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fourth and Summer's Dream (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee, unplaced, where it appeared that Summer's Dream (GB) ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by D.P. McDonogh riding carelessly and consequently found him to be in breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record and mitigating factors into consideration the Stewards suspended D.P. McDonogh for 1 raceday . Mr Robert Hall, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry.
