It was noted that whilst racing in close proximity to each other, Bascule (FR), placed second, and Halcyon Spirit (GB), placed third, made slight contact with each other shortly before the line, resulting in Halcyon Spirit (GB) becoming briefly unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Bascule (FR).
Following the race, George Rooke reported that Mister Swift (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
