Slattery rounds off best-ever Flat season in style
I had her roughed off for a few days after running here the last day and the lads said give her one more run. She seemed like she had enough racing going into the stalls and things like that.
Tina's Indian takes advantage of good opportunity for Fahey & Whelan
It was a good opportunity for the horse on ratings. We got a little bit anxious there for a minute. Ronan was good on him and let him stride on. I thought Diego (Dias)’s horse was coming there to do us but to be fair to the horse he did pick up. He won well enough at the line. After the gelding operation he seems to be going a lot better. Whether we chance the all-weather or not we don’t know, but we’ll have that discussion with Ronan.
Persse back amongst the winners at the Curragh
He walked by me at the Newmarket sales, and I said to Catherine ‘there’s a racehorse’, and bought him for 15 grand. . He’s only three and is a Saturday horse now. I’ll probably put him away now for the winter.
Chally Chute strikes Loughbrown gold for O’Sullivan
We’re thrilled. He’s been a star since he arrived and won a Listed race earlier in the year. He was unlucky the last day in the Cesarewitch when he didn’t get a clear run and was stopped twice. Usually that’s your opportunity for one of the big ones but it’s great to come back here and win a Group Three. He’s going to be some horse for next year. He has a high rating and could end up going for some of the Cup races – he could travel to England and France. It’s great for the yard and these horses are really hard to find.
Poignant victory for Titanium
This means so much to us as we lost one of the members of the syndicate, Liam Gavin, and his removal is today. We said we’d go ahead and run the horse and it’s just amazing that he’s done that. It’s very emotional. Fair play to the horse and Rory was excellent on him. He did exactly what we asked him to do. There was one of these in him. It just hadn’t gone to plan all year and probably the ground hadn’t been soft enough.
