After an initial false start, the start was effected successfully on the second attempt from a standing start.
The Starter reported that the following riders had not approached the tape at a walk or jig-jog: Mr Huw Edwards, the rider of JEUX D’EAU (FR); Mr Joe Wright, the rider of Paul Marvel (FR); Mr John Dawson, the rider of Red Delta (GB); Mr Oran McGill, the rider of Walk Away (IRE) and Mr Tom Hutsby, the rider of Fine Dining (IRE).
The riders and the Starters were interviewed, and recordings of the incident were shown.
All riders were suspended for 1 day to be notified by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for misconduct at the start.
