The winner C'est Quelqu'un (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Fontwell on 29 January 2023, where the gelding was pulled up in a field of ten runners.
The representative of Sean Curran could offer no explanation for the improvement, other than C'est Quelqu'un (FR) may have benefitted for the reapplication of cheekpieces on this occasion.
Their explanation was noted, and the gelding was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances regarding the length of time taken for Veterinary assistance to arrive on the scene after Moot Court (IRE) had been pulled up approaching the home turn, having sustained an injury.
The Clerk of the Course, the Senior Raceday Veterinary Surgeon, the Raceday Veterinary Surgeon and the rider were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Cloudy Wednesday (IRE), placed second, lost its left-fore shoe.
